Baua Devi
A Padma Shree awardee from the humble village of Jitwarpur, Baua Devi is a true legend in Madhubani art. Her talent and dedication were recognised early on. She won the National Award in 1984 and became the sole Mithila artist and the only Indian woman featured in the prestigious 1989 exhibition Magiciens de la Terre.
